Seminar Speaker John Romano Belongs to the Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame

One of the nation’s top trial lawyers and Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame member John F. Romano, will be speaking at this year’s “Winning Truck Wreck Cases” Seminar, hosted by David W. Craig and Scott A. Faultless of Craig, Kelley & Faultless.

Romano has practiced law for 50 years, is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and is board certified in both Civil Trial Law and Civil Practice Advocacy.

Craig, Kelley & Faultless is proud to announce Romano as a seminar speaker. The Winning Truck Wreck Cases Seminar will be held August 4, 2025, and is presented by Indiana Trial Lawyers Association.

Seminar Speaker John F. Romano

Romano’s seminar presentation is titled “Storytelling in Truck Wreck Cases with a Special Emphasis on Opening Statements”. In his career, Romano has successfully tried over 200 cases and knows what it takes to fight for clients in jury trials. His presentation will be in the afternoon on August 4.

David Craig, managing partner of Craig, Kelley & Faultless and co-chair of the seminar, spoke with Romano earlier this year during an episode of his podcast, After the Crash. In the episode, titled “Choosing the Right Lawyer,” Romano and Craig discussed the traits that successful truck accident lawyers must possess.

Romano has represented the victims and families of victims of commercial motor vehicle wrecks. He believes the best lawyers are organized, empathetic and, most of all, focused.

“When we are in trial, I want everybody on my team to have the mindset of this,” John Romano told David in episode 53. “We are invincible in the moment of this case.”

How a Football Player Became a Leading Trial Lawyer

Romano grew up in Florida, where he lives today. He graduated from Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach, Florida, then accepted a football scholarship from Florida State University.

A few years later, he moved away from his home state to attend South Texas College of Law in Houston. He graduated with his Juris Doctor degree in 1973. Romano also served as a Captain and an Officer with the Judge Advocate General’s Corps in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He has worked as a trial attorney since his acceptance to the Florida Bar in 1974. He formed a law firm based out of West Palm Beach that is known today as Romano Law Group.

Romano “lectures across America on trial advocacy and tort and criminal law, has authored three textbooks, and has published more than 100 articles in national publications or papers for national presentation,” the Romano Law Group website reports.

Romano’s Qualifications, Awards and Professional Associations

When he was inducted into the Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame in 2016, Romano joined the likes of John Adams, Thurgood Marshall and Clarence Darrow.

The Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame, which has fewer than 90 inductees, honors attorneys “who have left an indelible mark on the American legal tradition through a lifetime of service to the American public, the Constitution, and the American trial bar.”
