She is Board-Certified in Truck Accident Law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and in Personal Injury Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, solidifying her expertise in these types of cases. She has extensive experience with wrongful death claims and traumatic brain injuries as well, utilizing the knowledge she gained from her postgraduate studies in Neuroscience at Harvard University to fight for the victims of traumatic brain injuries.
Scherr is the current President-Elect of the Executive Board of the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys, in addition to her position on its Board of Regents. For the American Association for Justice (AAJ) Trucking Litigation Group, she sits on the Executive Board, co-chairs their Trucking Journal publications, and manages the Broker Database. She is also a member of the AAJ Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group. Truck Wrecks Resulting in Brain Injuries
Scherr’s session, titled “Risks of Brain Injuries in Truck Crashes”, will discuss the traumatic brain injuries that often result from catastrophic truck wrecks. The brain injuries caused by truck wrecks can be life-altering, causing those injured to sometimes lose the ability to care for themselves and others. Families who are affected by these injuries are often forever changed because of a trucking company’s negligence.
Scherr’s role as Parliamentarian on the AAJ’s Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group and previous position as the legal liaison to the Brain Injury Association of American makes her an expert in handling cases that involve brain injuries. Litigating brain injury cases, especially those caused by a truck wreck, can be complex, requiring attorneys to prove the injury was caused by the crash and calculate appropriate compensation based on medical bills, lost wages, and more. As an authority in her field, Scherr will inform attendees about the different types of brain injuries that can result from truck wrecks, ranging from minor to severe.
