Cedar R. Abadie is uniquely qualified to mediate cases that involve collisions with commercial motor vehicles. She understands the legal issues, coverage issues and the nuances of these cases. She mediates these cases all across the country through her company, Iron Resolution Services.
Cedar, an attorney for over 20 years, gained practical knowledge and experience handling these types of cases while working for two well-known trucking companies. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Claims & Litigation for Knight-Swift, the nation’s largest motor carrier. She was personally involved in nationally overseeing all major personal injury litigation.
Prior to Knight-Swift, she worked as general counsel for Dart Transit Company where she developed a broad appreciation of trucking as a profession and industry.
Utilizing Mediations to Mutually Resolve Truck Cases
Abadie’s seminar session, titled “Improving Mediation Outcomes: Early Process Activation & the Discipline of Credibility”, will focus on mediation methods in truck cases specifically. Personal injury and trucking accident litigation have become more complex, requiring attorneys on both sides to explore new approaches to try and reach a resolution in mediation.
Preparing for mediation begins well before the actual mediation day, and refining positions as well as reshaping and removing obstacles to resolution can help to structure an outcome that leads to practical, informed, and compassionate results. Abadie will provide attendees with insight into her mediation process as a neutral to help them assess their mediation methods and adapt them to enhance the mediation process.
