ITLA Presents the Third Annual “Winning Truck Wreck Cases” Seminar

On Aug. 10, attorneys, paralegals, members of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA) and other legal professionals from Indiana and beyond will gather in Noblesville for the third annual “Winning Truck Wreck Cases” seminar.

Those who wish to attend must register online prior to the seminar. The event will take place at the Embassy Suites Noblesville Indianapolis Conference Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The seminar will highlight an array of topics pertaining to truck wreck cases, including the opportunity to get an up-close look at two semi-trucks and an ethics panel featuring four of the attorney speakers. Attendees can expect to obtain six CLE credits and one Ethics CLE credit. This seminar is a great opportunity to see nationally recognized speakers, including several attorneys with NBTA board-certification, without needing to travel outside of Indiana.

This year’s speakers are:

Once again, the conference will be co-chaired by David W. Craig and Scott A. Faultless, two co-founders of Craig, Kelley & Faultless and board-certified in truck accident law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA).

Craig and Faultless are both on the Board of Regents of the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys (ATAA) and have been honored in the past several editions of The Best Lawyers in America®. Attorneys Scherr and Cowen have also received NBTA Board-Certification. Cowen currently serves as the Chair of the ATAA, and Scherr serves as the President-Elect of the ATAA Executive Board while also sitting on the Board of Regents. Abadie has vast experience with all kinds of truck cases, focusing on mediation practice as a neutral. She even obtained her CDL permit and did on-road training behind the wheel of a sleeper with a 53’ trailer, providing her with deep expertise of the trucking industry as a whole.

Cahalan, McMinoway and Fletcher will share their knowledge of the trucking industry from a safety perspective. Cahalan is the Executive Director of the Truck Safety Coalition, working as an advocate for those injured or killed in big truck wrecks. McMinoway is the co-owner of GL Mechanical LLC, which specializes in forensic inspections of trucks and automobiles, and has worked as a truck technician since 1970. Dr. Fletcher has performed over 20,000 DOT commercial driver examinations since 1986 and has provided his expert opinion on driver medical fitness for more than 75 cases across the United States.

Speakers will cover topics like medical fitness to operate a heavy truck, visibility issues while driving, the push for changes in truck safety, mediation issues, and more. Attendees will have the chance to closely observe two semi-trucks. The seminar will close with an ethics panel, where the speakers will deal with ethical issues that arise in the truck wreck case.

As sponsors of the seminar, Craig, Kelley & Faultless hope to bring industry leaders in the truck wreck arena together to share information and their knowledge about truck wreck cases, working closely with ITLA to bring together a top educational program. Many lawyers currently handle heavy truck cases or will in the future; this seminar equips legal professionals with the information to properly prepare for these cases.
