Craig, Kelley & Faultless is honored to announce that Emison will be presenting at the seminar on August 4, 2025. The “Winning Truck Wreck Cases” Seminar is co-chaired by David W. Craig and Scott A. Faultless of Craig, Kelley & Faultless and presented by the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association.
For more than 30 years, Emison has served as a trial attorney fighting for injured people and their families.
Seminar Speaker J. Kent Emison
At the “Winning Truck Wreck Cases” Seminar, on August 4, 2025, Emison will present “Collision Mitigation Product Liability Claims: Finding Additional Recoveries for Your Clients.” His lecture is scheduled for the morning session.
David Craig, managing partner of Craig, Kelley & Faultless and co-chair of the seminar, invited Emison to speak because he has extensive trial experience and represents the victims of commercial motor vehicle wrecks.
This seminar will cover a range of trucking-law topics, from broker liability to telematics discovery. Semi-truck wreck cases are complex and must be treated differently than other injury cases. Each seminar speaker will share valuable information about these cases with attendees.
From Dairy Farming to Multi-Million-Dollar Verdicts
Emison grew up on a dairy farm and most of his family members were farmers. One of the outliers was his great uncle—a law professor who inspired him, Emison told the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
By his junior year of high school, Emison knew he wanted to be an attorney.
He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia, in 1978. Then, in 1981, Emison received his Juris Doctor degree with distinction from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. He was admitted to the Missouri Bar the same year.
For the past 30 years, Emison has practiced law alongside Bob Langdon at Langdon & Emison. The firm is headquartered in Lexington, Missouri, and has offices in Kansas City, St. Louis, Independence and Chicago.
The firm has won more than $750 million in verdicts and settlements. The attorneys represent the victims of defective vehicles, trucking accidents, and other serious injury or wrongful death cases.
Emison’s Qualifications, Awards and Professional Associations
Emison is one of only 500 trial lawyers in the United States serving as Fellows in the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. The Academy’s mission is “to protect and promote the Rule of Law”, and members are selected through a comprehensive vetting process.
The Law Aim website reports:
